Working title - My Fingers between your Toes
A diaristic photobook created using homemade pinhole cameras.

Creating a pinhole camera perhaps began as a healthy distraction and form of expression for someone who was struggling to come to terms with the emotional situation he was in.  More likely, creating the cameras was a subconscious attempt at impressing my partner, hoping she would take notice and rekindle her desire. Maybe, the fixation was simply an attempt and excuse to hold on, by somebody who was not able to let go.

Whatever the reasoning, Pinhole photography has allowed a step-back, a distance. The images cannot be overly controlled; emotion and intuition take the lead, seemingly important moments can be lost and there is space for learning through the home-made cameras. The slowed-down, often limited, process allows me to, almost, photograph my thoughts.

This work is currently in its second year, it is currently intended to be complete in February 2024.

The work is being developed into a photobook during the ‘Time to blossom’ workshop at @zoetrope.athens Under the guidance of @yorgos.yatromanolakis. It is intended to eventually be presented in the style of a dairy or an index of memories.
